RECORDING REVEALS OBAMA CONTRADICTION
As Blagojevich Corruption Trial gets Closer to President, Mainstream Media Conspicuously Absent

Last week, during the corruption trial of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, his Chief of Staff John Harris – while under oath – implicated President Obama as having known that Blago wanted something of value, like a cabinet position, in return for appointing Obama's choice for his then soon-to-be vacated Senate seat; that choice was Valerie Jarrett.

This would directly contradict what Obama said at a press conference on the day of Blagojevich's arrest on December 9th, 2008. Quoting Obama then: “I had no contact with the Governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening..” Further testimony that is likely to contradict that statement may also come this week from an SEIU official named Tom Balanoff, who Blagojevich also referred to in conversations with Harris in 2008.

While the Chicago media has been sinking its teeth ever deeper into the details, the national mainstream media however, has been virtually silent.

Talking about the high drama and rising intrigue that could, once again, drag the mainstream media – kicking and screaming – to this story is a seasoned lawyer and one time candidate for the Kentucky Supreme Court, Marcus Carey as well as Chicago native and one time head of Chicago's City News Bureau, Jerry McGlothlin.

If the very personal and private discussions between Blagojevich and Harris are to be believed – as well as Harris' testimony – then Balanoff was sent on behalf of Obama to Blagojevich with Obama's choice, Jarrett. Blagojevich is heard on one of the tapes saying that he personally told Balanoff that if he were appointed as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), he would appoint Jarrett.

Want more intrigue? How about the recent subpoena of current Democratic Senatorial candidate for the same seat once held by Obama, Alexi Ginnoulias. Not only does Ginnoulias factor in to a larger, national context but he's going to have to explain a very uncomfortable contradiction.

In a Chicago Tribune news article from December of 2008, Ginnoulias is quoted as saying that Blagojevich reached out to him about Obama's Senate seat. However, during the testimony of Harris last week, a phone conversation between he and Blagojevich on November 7th, 2008 revealed something entirely different.

During that conversation, Harris informs Blago that “Alexi” approached him about the Senate seat. Blagojevich's response is that he doesn't trust “Alexi” and that he doesn't want Harris to talk to him at all. This would seem to indicate that not only a blatant contradiction but that Blagojevich didn't even want to engage Ginnoulias at all.
