DISARMING HATE Black Panther Leader Goes on Hateful, Race-Based Rant, calls for Death to 'Crackers' and 'their Babies'
The man who leads the New Black Panther Party (NBPP) in Philadelphia is King Samir Shabazz. On election day, Nov. 4, 2008, he was caught on video brandishing a night stick outside a Philadelphia polling station with a fellow Black Panther. A lawsuit filed by federal attorneys was subsequently dropped by the Eric Holder led Justice Department.
While the details surrounding the voter intimidation case remain a source of controversy, with one of the attorneys resigning over what many see as an egregious act in dropping the case, it's new video surfacing of Shabazz that is catching attention. The video (LINK BELOW), shot by National Geographic cameras, Shabazz is clearly demonstrating racial hatred for white people, exhorting people to kill “crackers” and their “babies”.
Meet the man who knows how to disarm those who are full of anger, rage, and hatred. Rick Goodfriend is a certified corporate speaker and communications expert who has discovered and developed techniques that allow people to completely disarm people who are so angry, they can't think straight. Goodfriend explains how that can be an advantage for those who are rational and emotionally detached from their subject's rage.
After watching the video of Shabazz, one is likely left with the impression that there is no possible way to difuse his anger. Goodfriend insists nothing could be further from the truth. He says that at the root of what Shabazz is feeling is fear that is manifesting itself in anger and hatred. The question then becomes, “what is Shabazz afraid of?”
Goodfriend examines how Shabazz's fears (and words) can impact the people around him. Does he successfully transfer his fears over to others? Can it make others angry?
Like taming the savage beast with music, Goodfriend prides himself on successfully being able to disarm anger and hatred almost against the subject's will. He does so by actually focusing on the perspective of the person who is otherwise inconsolable, causing him to be viewed as a source of empathy. When the guard of someone who is otherwise not reachable, is lowered, Goodfriend does his best work.
