ANOTHER WITNESS to Obama Lie

Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett, and Blagojevich Himself Expected to Testify for Defense
Earlier in the corruption trial of Rod Blagojevich, the former governor's one time Chief of Staff testified that he believed president-elect Obama knew of Blagojevich's request that he be appointed Secretary of Health and Human Services in exchange for appointing Valerie Jarrett to Obama's Senate seat. The testimony of one of the last witnesses for the prosecution does more than bolster that claim it implicates Obama in the actual request.
Former U.S. Congressman from Colorado, Bob Beauprez has been tracking the Blagojevich trial proceedings very closely and is doing interviews on this topic, providing insight for your audience on what might be expected when the Defense begins to present its case.
While it would not have been a crime for Obama to make known his choice for his replacement, it appears he lied about having any involvement. Is this another case of, it's not about the act, it's about the cover-up? If it's not a crime for a former Senator to recommend his replacement choice to the Governor, why lie?
Wyma's testimony, coupled with that of former Blagojevich Chief of Staff John Harris as well as recordings of phone conversations played for jurors thus far, all directly contradict what Obama said at a press conference with Joe Biden and Al Gore on the day of Blagojevich's arrest on December 9th, 2008. Interestingly, Obama's claim that he had no contact with the governor came when he decided to answer a reporter's question after the press conference had ended and Obama was off-script..

The trial itself has been interesting to say the least up to this point but it could get much more interesting very soon. The prosecution wrapped up a month sooner than expected, which means Blagojevich will take the stand sooner than expected as well.
One of the final witnesses to testify for the prosecution, Wyma told jurors that he received a phone call from Rahm Emanuel on behalf of Barack Obama in November of 2008. According to Wyma's testimony under oath, he was asked to approach Blagojevich with the message that Obama wanted him to appoint Valerie Jarrett to his old Senate seat.
To this point, the judge presiding over the trial has made mulitple decisions that have been fortuitous for the Obama administration. One of them came early on, when he denied the defense's motion to subpoena the president's testimony.
Will the defense make the case that since Barack Obama's public statements conflict directly with evidence in this trial, the judge should reconsider?
